Stand-Up Desk Posture Tips

BODY DYNAMICS @ WORK: Just cause you got a standing desk, doesn’t mean you don’t have to be mindful. We bring our habits into everything.
If you sink into your hips/ lower back, lock your knees, or the oh-so-common “stick your neck out there,” this will also happen standing.
So, check yourself before you wreck yourself.

Reminders for Standing Desk:
1. Feet hip width apart
2. Lengthen from bottom through top of head
3. Get in touch with the whole of your feet through moving circles
(heal, side, toe).
4. Lean slightly back over your hips to avoid “sticking your neck out there.”
5. Use eyes to lead your head to look up and back, releasing your neck, then bring back to find your gaze.

6. Release the back of neck up allowing chin/head back to look at screen. This is a great way to RESET.
7. Leave shoulder blade back when moving hands to keyboard, lead with finger tips. Flip hands over to rotate shoulders back, to reset wrists.
8. Think of wrists and fingers being light. 🙌
9. Check in sometimes with hips (are you sinking into them?) or knees (are you locking them). Do a little hip/knee bend dance.
10. BREATH: Always check in with your breathing.
Allow breathing mechanism to work freely.
